Cancellations

The cancellation type is configured as part of the product terms and conditions and the merchant gets to decide what type of cancellation will apply to consumers if they decided to cancel their subscriptions. There are 3 different cancellation types available on our API.

  • INSTANT CANCELLATION

  • CANCELLATION AFTER CURRENT PERIOD

  • CANELLATION AFTER NEXT PERIOD

INSTANT CANCELLATION

An INSTANT cancellation takes effect immediately. This means a credit note will be issued to the consumer for any billing to the consumer done after the cancellation.

If an instant cancellation is initiated on the 14th of March for a monthly period type, the subscription will be canceled on this same day and if the consumer has already been invoiced, a credit note will be issued to the consumer for the remaining days left in the month.

AFTER CURRENT PERIOD CANCELLATION

A cancellation type set as AFTERCURRENTPERIOD means the cancellation will be activated after the end of the current period a consumer is subscribed to the product or service.

If a cancellation is initiated after current period on the 14th of March for a monthly period type, the subscription will be canceled at the end of March.

AFTER NEXT PERIOD CANCELLATION

A cancellation type set as AFTERNEXTPERIOD means the cancellation will be activated after the end of the next period a consumer is subscribed to the product or service.

For example, if a cancellation is initiated after next period on the 14th of March for a monthly period type, the subscription will be canceled on the 14th of April.
